Let the guessing begin: What will AG bring back for Felicity?

For my wish list number one would be a dress like the townfair one.
Sam's 97LE outfit and the new bething outfit are VERY much alike, despite the change in headgear, so they may want to refloat the 97LE for Lissie too, may be with some little changes (a different toy that does not take up so much space? Please?)

Cami, its nice to hear someone else with the same opinion on the riding habit. I got that outfit the same christmas I got Felicity (along with the work dress). I personally like the work gown much better, the riding habit is pretty but I just dont connect to it like everyone else. It probably relates back to what I said earlier about prefering the everyday dresses over the fancy gowns. It would be really neat if they modified the work dress, I love that outfit so much, it would be nice having a slightly different one!

Felicity's movie is holiday focused as well. According to the WB.com, it looks like the order in the movie will be Meet Felicity, Felicity learns a lesson, Happy birthday Felicity, Felicity saves the day and then Felicity's surprise and Changes for Felicity together. They've updated that site with a plot summary. Ya'll should read it.

The green trunk is a travel trunk. It would have been used by men as sort of a briefcase. I've seen them in museums and they're small in real life too. The Clothes Press is where Felicity would have kept her clothes.

So here it goes. From what we know, it appears about 100% sure we are getting the work dress and riding habit back, as well as a new tea dress, whatever that means. So what about accessories? I have a feeling that AG wont focus so much on these partly because they dont sell as well as they should and partly because AG just seems to care more about dresses anyway. But here are my thoughts:

School Set:
Tea lesson (Still available)
Reading and Writing Lesson (Retired)
-Since both Addy and Josefina have had their lesson set retired (which is a crock IMO, AG would rather have toy food than those amazing items. Anyone who has seen Addys union reader knows what Im talking about) I have a feeling that Felicitys will stay retired. Then again, this lesson is part of how Elizabeth is introduced so perhaps they will bring it back in some form

Christmas Set
Noah's Ark (retired)
Shrewsbery Set (retired)
Milliners Doll (available)
-I think they will bring back the shrewsbery set and thats it. In the book, Felicity and Elizabeth bake these together and AG seems to like accessories with food. Noah's Ark is a neat little set, but since it does not directly involve Elizabeth I have a feeling they will just ignore about it.

Birthday Set:
(since this is a lot of stuff, Im only mentioning what is retired)
Guitar
Needlepoint Set
-I think the guitar will be brought back because it is an important part of her birthday story. Im not as sure about the needlepoint set, but if Im not mistaken, isnt it supposed to be the one that Lissie eventually gives to Elizabeth in the last book? I know I should just pull out mine and look but Im feeling lazy [img]tongue.gif[/img] So I think both of these items have a good chance of coming back. Esepcially since I dont think any other AG has had anything from this set retired.

Summer Set:
Rescue Kit (retired)
Plantation Play (retired)
-Well they have to bring something back from this collection! My money is on the rescue kit. The planation play has some different pieces that might not be as popular to young girls. Also the rescue items are more important in the story. And lastly, I paid a fair amount for a nice, pre-mattel rescue kit on ebay last fall and it would be just my luck for them to bring that back, but not the planation play which Im still looking for [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Winter Set:
Mitts Pattens (available)
Winter Entertainments (Retired)
Green Traveling Trunk (retired)
Underwear (Available)
-I think we will see the green trunk come back in some way. It is a neat object as the small trunk but it also would be really nice as a full size trunk to replace the clothes press. So Im sure we will see this in some shape or form. Im not as sure about the winter entertainments as many of these have been retired. (Well, Kirstens and Addys anyway) But I could see them bring it back. BTW, that little spinning toy is the best one Ive ever seen, that thing can entertain me!

Everything Else:
Clothes Press (retired)
Night Stand (retired)
Nighttime necessities (Retired)
Town Fair Outfit (Retired, Special Edition)
-Ok, the first three are no brainers I think. Every girl has a nightstand, accessories to go with it and a place to store clothes and other things. The question is more about the clothes press. Considering how expensive it probably was to make, I think a larger green trunk might be more appropriate. I would actually prefer this to the clothes press. As for the town fair outfit, I have some hope as we did see Samanthas bathing suit come back. Although it was changed from the SE 97' version, it is still similar. Im hoping that one of AGs new dresses for Felicity will be similar to the town fair outfit. It is one of my favorites of hers (I prefer the more simple day clothes to the fancy gowns) and Im still kicking myself for not getting it back then.

Anywho, those are my thoughts. To summarize, I think they will bring back these items for sure:
Shrewsbery Set
Guitar
Rescue Kit
Green Trunk (possibly larger)
Nightstand
Nighttime nessities

And possibly the reading and writing lesson, Noah's Ark and winter entertainments.

I would love if they created a real trunk for Felicity, using that small one as a model. I'm not too crazy about the clothes press, and for the price of those trunks, I would have to really love it!

I agree with mostly everything you've said. I really hope they bring back the work dress, that and the town fair are the only ones I'm missing for Felicity, and naturally, they're the two I like best.

My view is that they will focus on bringing back the things that are in the movie, and I don't know about which books will be *in* the movie, and I don't think we can use Samantha's movie as a guide. Samantha's was a HOLIDAY focused movie, and Felicity's is going to be an ADVENTURE, so I'm hoping that Saves the Day will be included, it's one of the best of hers, I think, and really shows the Revolution from her point better than some of the others.

Going by the "Felicity: An American Girl Adventure", I think we'll see Meet Felicity, a little (the part with "Thank you, I shall have no more tea") from Felicity Learns a Lesson, probably very little from Felicity's Surprise, the part with the guitar and hearing the army men at the Cole's house and an introduction to Grandfather from Happy Birthday, Felicity! , a good deal of Felicity Saves the Day, and most of Changes for Felicity.

That said, the things I hope they bring back are:
~Guitar
~Some type of Trunk
~Work Outfit (preferably modified to be more like in the books)
~Riding Habit (I've got it, and honestly, I don't love it, but there's a lot of people who do, and even more who don't have it and would like it)
~Needlepoint set (it is the one she ends up giving Elizabeth in Changes, and I think that ties the books together so well "Faithful Friends Forever Be")
~Rescue Kit
~all of her bedroom items

I wish we could use the Samantha movie as a guide to what will come out for Felicity, but as Samantha had *nothing* retired, thus nothing to re-appear, we can't. It'll be interesting if they decide not to bring back anything, and just remake things from scratch, but that would probably cost a lot more money, with more research and product...creation, or something. Whereas using what they've already had would just mean getting it up and running again.

LOL, that was long, and I rambled, but I think I answered your original question. Sorry if that got too long.

I'm skeptical about the Writing lesson, since they still have part of it packaged with the Windsor Writing Chair. I would love for it to come back, but I'm not so hopeful. I think there's a good chance that they'll turn the green trunk into a storage chest - some of the other girls' trunks aren't where they would have kept their clothes, either, but it seems like that's not the point of the trunks. They're more about storage than being historically accurate furniture. I think there's a chance they will redesign the Shrewsbury cakes set to include some fake cookies - one reason I didn't get it when it was available was that I wished it actually came with cookies. Making real ones wasn't really practical for everyday play (although it's cool that it comes with the cutters and recipe).
